The New Garden - the second most famous palace park (after Sanssouci) in Potsdam. Bypassing its side will be, to put it mildly, inexcusable, especially since it does not at all resemble its own colleague and at the same time is in no way inferior to Sanssouci in beauty and majesty. The new garden counts its history from the end of the 18th century, and it appeared on the orders of King Frederick William II. Unlike his uncle, Frederick the Great, who, as we recall, was working on the creation of Sanssouci, Wilhelm II departed from pomposity and excessive luxury.

In the New Garden in Potsdam there are two main buildings that all tourists visit without exception. This is the Marble Palace and the Palace of Cecilienhof.

The main idea of ​​the New Garden in Potsdam is simplicity and harmony. That is why there are not a lot of buildings here, and a large part of the territory is occupied by forest tracts, lawns, lawns. Nevertheless, in the New Garden in Potsdam there are two main buildings that are visited by all tourists without exception. This is the Marble Palace and the palace of Cecilienhof. Both mansions were well preserved, although the Marble Palace suffered badly during the Second World War

The New Garden in Potsdam

The Palace of Cecilienhof was inscribed in the history books after the Potsdam Conference was held here in 1945 with the participation of Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill and Harry Truman. Admittedly, today the palace is used to receive important people, but fortunately for tourists, this happens rarely. Once outside the palace of Cecilienhof in the New Garden in Potsdam, note that there are 55 chimneys on the roof of the building and none of them is repeated. By the way, a lot of impressions will remain after visiting the 176 rooms of the palace.

The working hours of the palace Cecilienhof: Tuesday - Sunday 10:00 - 17:00 (November - March), Tuesday - Sunday 10:00 - 18:00 (April - October). Monday - closed.

Entrance: 6 EUR, combined ticket, also calculated for visiting the Marble Palace: 8 EUR.

Please note that the working time of the Marble Palace: Saturday - Sunday 10:00 - 16:00 (November - April), Monday - Friday the palace is closed. And also Tuesday - Sunday 10:00 - 18:00 (May - October), this time on Monday. Entrance: 5 EUR
