Lemnos (Λήμνος) is a Greek island of volcanic origin in the Aegean Sea. The island itself is deprived of tourist fame, which gives it even more charm: a quiet almost family holiday, genuine Greece without tourist chic, and here everything is for a comfortable stay: good hotels, mass attractions, shops and restaurants.

Beaches
Despite the fact that Lemnos is not the most popular tourist destination in Greece, here are excellent beaches, some of the best in the north-eastern part of the Aegean Sea. Most of them are in the vicinity of Mirina: surrounded by the volcanic rocks of Agios Ioannis, the purest Avlonas, the picturesque Thanos Beach, the beautifully equipped Platy Beach and Romaikos Yialos, where many opportunities for water sports are available to active holidaymakers.
Hotels and Lemnos apartments
On Lemnos you can stay in hotels, as well as numerous rooms, apartments and houses handed over by private owners. There is an amazingly low crime rate, so the barrier to such accommodation can only be the ignorance of the Greek language by the tourist and the inability to speak the hosts in his native or international English.
