How to get to Chios
By sea

Not far from the village of Emborio there is an archaeological site on the site of an ancient city with an acropolis. In the area of Vrontado, the alleged homeland of Homer, Dascalopetra is on the beach, or the Rock of Homer is the place where, according to legend, he passed on his priceless poetic skills to students. An interesting monastery is Nea Moni, founded in the 11th century by the Byzantine emperor Constantine Monomakh. The main temple of the monastery belongs to the type of octagonal churches, examples of which can be seen only in Chios and Cyprus.
Museums
