Spacious Plaça Catalunya - the place where the Passeig de Gràcia Avenue and the Rambla Blvd meet. This, if I may say so, the Red Square of Barcelona, with the only difference is that there are no government buildings and military commandant's offices in the district. Once an ancient small area to the north of Las Ramblas, it has been greatly expanded and "combed" to the first World's Fair in 1888, and then -. To the Barcelona International Exhibition th 1929
Today Catalunya boasts 50,000 sq m .. "useful" granite . This is one of the popular meeting places for city residents, in addition, you can always quench your thirst from free fountains (which is said to guarantee a speedy return to Barcelona) . The center of the square marks a luxurious and very " fluffy "fountain, and along the perimeter of pa several monuments found on the rear . On the sides of the square - the headquarters of the Spanish banks, El Corte Ingles shopping center and the Consulate of Canada: as a joke barselontsy to get hold of money to spend and to escape from justice . And yet here is the official shop of FC Barcelona , where you can buy a blue garnet shirt and a portrait of your beloved Messi .
At the bottom level of the square is the central and largest department of the Tourist Office of Catalonia, and from its side buses go to Barcelona airport and tourist buses to the ex courses in Catalonia - for example, to the mountain of Montserrat, in Girona and Figueres
The nearest metro station to the square -. actually Catalunya, and Passeig de Gracia and Plaza Catalunya Urquinaona

Who was in the center of Catalonia Barcelona, that certainly, visited the main square, named for the Spanish province. From this square, there are nine main roads, including Gracia, the pedestrian boulevard of La Rambla. From here you can walk to the most important temple - the Cathedral of St. Cross and St. Eulalia, to make shopping in the largest trading house, which is nearby.
About a lot of Catalunya, but for each tourist it has its own. After all, we all individually perceive and ... Read full review

Plaza Catalunya is in the heart of Barcelona. It is at this station of electric trains that those who travel from the coastal resort towns to the capital leave. The trains run underground and look very much like our metro. The main thing is not to get lost: you need to go into the subway in the same exit from which you left.
Upstairs from the metro, we immediately get to the Plaza Catalunya. It is quite small, it has several fountains and many shops. There is nowhere to go for a walk, rather to sit and relax ... Read full review

Plaza Catalunya may not be the biggest and not the most beautiful in city, but it is the starting point of all sightseeing routes (or almost all). After all, there is a bus station, a railway station, excursion buses leave from here, and we were brought here, stopped near the "Hard Rock Cafe", because it is easy to navigate. In the center of the pedestrian area, there are many shops in the shade of trees, there are beautiful statues and a huge fountain. However, more ... Read full review

Barcelona is my favorite city that I visited. And every time I come here, the first place I go is the square of Catalonia. Plaza Catalunya is the most popular place for tourists, there are always a lot of people here. All the buses from the airport will take you here. There are many fountains and a large number of sculptures on the square, there is even a small pool where on a hot summer day, dropping shoes can be walked along the water. From the Plaza de Catalunya, 9 streets start, including the two most famous ... Read full review

This is the most spiritual square that I saw in the city. It is the most popular place for both tourists and local residents. Here people meet, feed pigeons, rest in the cool of fountains. Near the square all tourist buses of the city stop, here you can take any of the three tourist routes that cover all the main sights of the city. Here is the most famous network of Hard Rock cafe, in which tourists are very fond of going. It is difficult to get there ... Read full review
