How to get to Chersonissos
From Nikos Kazantzakis airport (25 km) from Russia flies a lot of charters. Further to Chersonissos you can get either by taxi (about 50 euros) or by bus: first to the bus station in Heraklion (bus number 1, departure every 15 minutes from 6 am to 1 night), and then by bus to the resort - departure every half hour , on the way 45 minutes, fare ~ 3, 5 EUR.

History
Chersonissos is one of the oldest settlements in Crete, located in a picturesque region , where turquoise waters meet the charming rocks of Lasithi. The name "Chersonissos" comes from the Greek "peninsula", which rises from the west over the Channel Strait.

Orientation
The ancient picturesque village of Hersonissos is located 2 km south of the port, on a hill with stunning sea views. Here the traditional houses adjoin to green streets, workshops and cafes, churches and taverns, where the guests of the resort can taste national dishes and drinks
The modern port of Hersonissos is the second part of the resort, surrounded by luxurious resort complexes and small cozy apartments.
Beaches

Entertainment, excursions and Notices of Hersonissos
The remains of ancient theaters, mosaics, paleo-Christian basilica, Roman port and ancient fish tank are one of the main attractions of modern Chersonissos. For example, north of the hotel Eri Beach 4 * is an old basilica, and a little further to the west - a Saracen fountain with amazing mosaics.
