How to get
Bus No. 2 departs from Heraklion airport to Amoudara. A taxi ride will take about 20 minutes to cost around € 20 (as of April 2011).

@ Amudary Beaches
Wide sandy beaches stretched for five kilometers in length. Basically, these are municipal beaches, with the exception of some belonging to hotels. Rent of umbrellas and sun loungers, shower, volleyball courts, taverns and bars is available.
About 30 meters from the shore under water there is a stone ridge, a kind of breakwater that comes in very handy in the open bay of the village. However, lovers of distant swimmers are unlikely to like it - the stones are located close enough to the surface of the water, in addition, they are populated by sea urchins.

Shopping
There are many small shops along the main street of the village, selling souvenirs and everything that can come in handy on vacation, there are also several supermarkets.
Restaurants
Being a busy tourist area, Ammoudara offers many taverns, cafes, bars and snack bars for every taste. Asian cuisine is represented by the Thai restaurant Khing's Asian House. Among traditional places, the Uncle George's tavern is very popular for authenticity of recipes and high level of service.
Entertainment, excursions and attractions Ammoudara
Entertainment center "Technopolis" in the center of the village is cafes and restaurants, children's playgrounds, multiplex cinema and a cinema in the open air (films are in Greek and English and with English-language subtitles).
