Add a review about the beach Balos

Balos Beach is one of the most inaccessible beaches of Crete. You can get here either by car (but this is quite a difficult task, since there is no normal road), or as part of an organized excursion to the island of Gramvus from the port of Kissamos. Boats run almost every hour.

What is unique about the beach? First, the fact that here you can count dozens of shades of water, and secondly, the fact that it is in this place there are three seas: Ionian, Aegean and Libyan. Try to determine in which waters of the sea you are swimming now, but the number of shades of blue and the purity of water are simply amazing. Add to this snow-white sand and a small bay where children can splash - and you will fall in love with this place forever.

Balos Beach

Usually Balos Beach is visited as part of an organized excursion to the pirate island of Gramvous, on top of which the remains of a Venetian fort . Walking along this arid island with endemic plants and rabbits, which the guide will surely warn that it is not worth catching, is to spend about an hour under the scorching sun, after which, naturally, he is drawn to swim - and the ship pierces to the other shore, directly opposite the pirate islands.

This is Balos. On the sandy shore there are very small pink shells that can take a child for a short time - this is clearly a training session in front of Elefonisi beach, a little further away.

Balos beach recently appeared sunbeds and umbrellas, because there are quite a lot of tourists here. But, which is very pleasing, there are practically no services for renting water equipment on the beach, and nothing breaks the peaceful rest.

There are not people living nearby, there is not a single cafe or restaurant, if you are thinking about buying a bottle of water or about to snack on the spot - the beach is completely wild, there are no such services. The only pity is that it's not easy to get to Balos beach, and the ships that bring excursions to Gramvousa allow you to spend only an hour on the beach. In this cozy cove you can swim even when there is a storm in the neighborhood and the sea is restless.
