In Belarus there are several unique monuments, which are called Borisov stones. These are hefty boulders with broken inscriptions and crosses. Most often on the stone is carved the text "Remember Lord your slave, Boris son of Ginville ...". The stones are named after the Polotsk prince Boris, who reigned in the 12th century.
